Wood Coating – Spring Program 2024 – Hớn Quản, Bình Phước
Wood Coatings organized the “Spring Program” — On January 21, 2024, BIOMASS Generate A Charity Program aimed at bringing joy and support to disadvantaged families. After conducting thorough surveys, the charity committee of Biochem, the parent company of BIOMASS, selected Tân Hiệp Commune in Hớn Quản District as the destination for this visit. This area was chosen due to the significant material and emotional challenges faced by many households.
The primary objective of this visit was to bring a touch of “Spring” to the residents of Tân Hiệp, offering not only essential supplies but also a sense of hope and solidarity during this festive season.
Thorough Preparation Before the “Spring Program” by BIOMASS Wood Coatings
A week before the event, the charity committee diligently collected donations from members of the Biochem family. These funds were converted into Tet gifts, divided into two categories: family packages and children’s packages. The gifts were meticulously prepared to ensure they would bring joy and relief to the recipients.
Family Gift Packages (HGĐ):
- 750ml cooking oil
- Economical fish sauce (1 bottle)
- Granulated sugar (1kg)
- MSG (140g)
- Red bear instant noodles (1 box)
- Rice (10kg)
Children’s Gift Packages:
- A teddy bear (1)
- A backpack (1)
- Milk (1 carton)
- Haru sponge cake
- Candy
- Pinwheel
- Milk tea
This careful preparation aimed to provide essential supplies and bring a festive atmosphere to the families and children of Tân Hiệp Commune.
After thoroughly preparing gifts for 160 households and 252 children, the Biochem team was ready to embark on the journey to Hớn Quản District. With a spirit of giving and community support, the team loaded the gifts onto the vehicle, filled with anticipation and determination to bring joy and assistance to those in need.
Four destination one journey – Spring Program
At 7 AM on January 21, 2024, the Biochem team set off from their factory and office to the homes of the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. After distributing the gifts at four different locations, the team headed to the first main distribution point. Here, the households had already gathered in anticipation.
The distribution started with gifts for the adults. The Biochem team ensured that every household received their allotted gifts efficiently and smoothly. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and joy as the adults received their essentials.
While the adults were collecting their gifts, the Biochem team engaged the children with fun and interactive games like “Simon Says” and “Dragon Snake Climbs Up the Cloud.” These activities not only kept the children entertained but also fostered a sense of community and togetherness.
To keep everyone refreshed under the 33°C heat, there was a homemade milk tea stand that provided a delightful treat for all. The combination of gifts, games, and refreshments created a festive and heartwarming atmosphere, embodying the spirit of the “Spring Program.”
This event was more than just a distribution of gifts; it was a celebration of community, kindness, and hope. The smiles on the faces of both adults and children were a testament to the positive impact that Biochem’s “Spring Program” had on Tân Hiệp Commune.
Location 2 – Tân Hiệp Brick Kiln – Spring Program – Safe Wood Coating
After completing the distribution at the first location, our team quickly moved to the second location at the Tân Hiệp Brick Kiln. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a crowd of eager residents waiting in the hall. Responding to their enthusiasm, we swiftly set up to distribute the gifts. Even though it was nearly noon, the people patiently stood in line to receive their gifts. We were met with many bright smiles from the locals.
At this location, Biochem distributed 81 household gift packages and 141 children’s gift packages. Despite their eagerness, everyone maintained order in line, which helped speed up the distribution process. The residents of the Brick Kiln expressed their gratitude and New Year wishes to Biochem, making everyone smile brightly. In turn, Biochem wished everyone a warm and happy Tet holiday with their loved ones.
Location 3: Biomass Wood Coatings Visits the House of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul
After finishing the distribution at the second location, our team moved to the third location: the House of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul. Here, we continued our mission to spread joy and support to those in need during the Tet holiday season. The sisters and residents warmly welcomed us, and we quickly set up to begin the distribution of gifts.
We distributed gifts to 25 households and 22 children. Similar to the previous locations, the atmosphere here was lighter due to the availability of seating and shade. Although it was 2 PM on a scorching day, the bright smiles on their faces persisted. Their joy and gratitude brought happiness to us, easing our fatigue and filling our hearts with warmth.
At this place, I met Ms. Hồng. She has two young children of similar ages. She single-handedly struggles to raise both children and send them to school. On the day of the gift distribution, she came with her children packed in a plastic cargo container. The two little ones were chirping and playing inside while the gifts were carefully tied around the container. People often say, “In hardship, wisdom emerges.” Indeed, they seem like warriors who never give up in the face of difficulty. The harder the challenge, the more resourceful they become in overcoming it—something that always teaches us valuable lessons.. 
Destination 4: Riverside Village in Hon Quan province
The final destination was the riverside village in Hớn Quản district. The houses here are closely packed together, built with wooden frames and old, dilapidated aluminum sheets. These homes resemble small market stalls, just big enough to fit a bed and a few small cabinets. The children, upon seeing the charity group approaching, excitedly ran from afar. They eagerly led everyone into their homes and invited them to their small playground by the ferry dock.
In the village, there was a large plum tree laden with fruit, a sight that drew admiration from all who saw it. Next to the village was a lush green pond where the villagers often caught fish. They mentioned that the weather had been harsh lately, causing a decrease in the fish population and an increase in prices, making their lives more challenging. However, the arrival of charity groups provided some comfort amidst their worries. Daily, some families collect and sell scrap materials, while others sell fish and vegetables. Despite their efforts, the earnings were minimal.
After distributing all the gifts to the families, the leaders of Biochem did not forget to hand out red envelopes as New Year blessings to everyone. Following this, Biochem concluded the program and boarded the bus to return home. Though a bit tired, the smiles of the villagers provided us with a powerful source of motivation.
The Priceless Gift After the Conclusion of the Spring Program
From the beginning, with the core value of community, Biochem has aimed to contribute a portion of its profits to building a fair and inclusive society. We established the ‘Green Sprout’ fund to nurture young dreams – for a Green future. Therefore, we are and will continue on our path.
